About the role

They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Alternate Underground Manager to join their operations team. Reporting to the Underground Manager, you’ll play a critical role in overseeing underground mining activities and driving operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage operational teams, including contractors, to ensure underground mining operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and execute plans, budgets, and strategies to meet production goals while optimizing performance and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with geology, engineering, and production teams to forecast mining strategies, conduct economic assessments, and ensure financial viability of operations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering and technical teams, fostering professional growth and high performance.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative mining methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

About You

You’ll bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Experience & Skills:

Proficiency in Deswik software (Sched, CAD, SO, MDM) with a track record of delivering results in large-scale underground mining operations.
Strong knowledge of underground mining projects, including ramp-ups and multi-site operations.
Expertise in mine planning, cost analysis, and risk assessment.
Thorough understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act & Regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
