Legal Counsel – Front-End Construction & Infrastructure
Legal Counsel – Front-End Construction & Infrastructure
Permanent / Full TimeLocation: Sydney Posted on November 06, 2024
- Front-end role focused on bid-winning and tendering for a range for construction and infrastructure projects.
- Take ownership over upstream bidding phase, including supply chain, procurement arrangements, etc.
- Transport, defence and energy projects (inc. renewables / new energy) will all feature without specific designations down asset class or location lines.
- Their recent record of project delivery has seen them cement themselves as a preferred player. A big part of this is they are of a size that allows a good balance to be struck between stability and the nimbleness / responsiveness required in this current market.
- This has resulted in consistent profitability, despite the relatively contactor-hostile climate of late.
- A permanent appointment, there is a track record of mobility across the legal functions, enabling access to project delivery orientated roles for those looking for some diversity.
- A relatively flat structure, you will report to a technically strong Head of Legal. Expect a strong level of access to the GC, commercial managers, and the executive.
- The GC has encouraged a culture of ‘see a problem, fix a problem’, endeavouring to remove the bureaucracy and red-tape present in some similar environments.
- Furthermore, the legal team has made significant inroads to secure a trusted seat at the decision-making table, ensuring strong commercial integration into the business.
- Being a fully integrated national team, this seat can be across Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne, with existing team in all locations.
About you;
- Ideally you will be an experienced legal counsel or new senior legal counsel (6 – 10 yrs PAE).
- Demonstrable front-end experience, particularly around the bidding and ‘work-winning’ piece of sophisticated infrastructure, engineering, and construction projects.
- Additional experience in the post-award, project delivery phase highly regarded.
- Ideally you will bring in-house experience or exposure to in-house through a solid secondment. If looking to move over from practice, you will be coming out of a respected construction practice with a contractor focus.
