Underground Ventilation Engineer

About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this position is responsible for optimizing underground ventilation systems to ensure safe and efficient ore extraction. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational guidance, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards and legislative requirements.
This position is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, with the option to be residential or Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) from Perth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to long-term site strategy by providing input into life-of-mine (LOM) ventilation planning.
- Develop and monitor quarterly ventilation work plans to align with production and safety targets.
- Support operational teams by clearly defining ventilation requirements in weekly and monthly mine planning meetings.
- Assist with ventilation projects and infrastructure planning.
- Ensure ventilation constraints and instructions are accurately documented and communicated to field personnel.
- Maintain up-to-date records and ensure proper coordination between mine development and ventilation needs.
- Provide guidance and support to internal and external contractors, as well as Graduate Engineers, on ventilation systems.
- Leverage technology and innovation to enhance ventilation system efficiency and effectiveness.
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in underground mining engineering, with exposure to longhole drilling, blasting, ventilation, project management, and mine planning.
- Strong planning, project management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and mining software, including Deswik CAD.
- Experience with Ventsim is essential.
