About the company
This is a rare opportunity to join a major gold producer at their flagship WA open pit and underground operation. The management team has a strong track record of discovering and developing assets into producing mines and to create high performing teams. They are currently looking for an experienced and driven Mining Manager to cover a 2-3 month contract, leading the technical services and production departments to achieve operational targets in a safe and efficient manner.
About the role
Reporting to the GM, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of technical and commercial aspects of the open pit and underground operation to ensure actual performance is tracking according to operational goals. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring of your direct reports as well as the wider mining team. You will ensure effective communication with the mining contractor and internal stakeholders on all levels. Your day to day responsibilities will be focused on guiding the mining operations to safe production while meeting key performance metrics of the project.

About you
- Possess a Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering
- WA First Class Mine Manager Certificate of Competency
- Advanced DESWIK user and experience with Ventsim
- Proven leadership ability and experience with training and mentoring junior staff
- Exposure to the various stages of an UG operation, including drill & blast, mine services and infrastructure, ventilation, backfill, production and scheduling
- Have a strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate successfully with stakeholders on all levels
- Strong contractor management experience
