About the Role
As an Open Pit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day mining operations, ensuring strategic alignment with long-term business goals, and leading a high-performing team. These roles are available across major production hubs in Western Australia, offering both residential and FIFO opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage open pit mining operations, ensuring efficiency in planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Provide input and approvals for strategic mining plans, Life of Mine (LOM) contributions, and operational budgets.
- Improve systems and processes to enhance coordination across site functions and drive production priorities.
- Manage resource allocation, including workforce and equipment, to align with business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong background in contract mining environments with exposure to various commodities and mining styles.
- Proven leadership experience in open pit mining, including holding statutory management positions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor large teams.
- Sound financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and capital management.
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications;
- WA Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency or First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
- Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Valid Western Australian “C” Class Driver’s License.
