Payroll Officer

Join a reputable and well-established payroll team based in Perth CBD, offering the opportunity to work with a high-performing team within a leading mining company. This ongoing role has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll, with a strong background in managing fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) pay cycles, and proficiency in Elmo accounting software. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Processing all new starters & terminations,
• Processing weekly / monthly pay runs and ad hoc payments,
• Processing bank payments using online banking,
• End of month and end of year reconciliation and reporting,
• Ensure wages and tax withholding’s comply with relevant legislation and regulations,
• Managing the Payroll inbox including responding to questions about compensation, benefits, taxes and insurance deductions and
• Manage Leave reconciliations and verifications for a variety of employment instruments

Requirements

• At least 3 years experience as a Payroll Officer covering end to end payroll processing
• Experience with SAP, ELMO
• Strong MS Excel skills 
• Good knowledge of labor and taxation legislation 
• Ability to interpret Awards and EBA’s.
• Time-management skills with a flexible approach and ability to adjust if and when needed.
• Ability to handle and work with highly confidential information.
