Project Maintenance Superintendent

About the Role:

A leading mining contractor is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Superintendent to oversee the maintenance of a mobile fleet supporting mining and haulage operations in North West Queensland.

About You:

• Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in maintenance roles within mining or heavy industries.
• Certificate III or higher in Engineering (Maintenance/Fixed or Mobile Plant Mechanic).
• ICAM training, S123 certification, and a valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in MS Windows suite; experience with Baseplan (desirable).
• Trade Background and Project Management experience highly desired
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety & Compliance:
  
  • Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Implement and uphold workplace safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Lead safety initiatives, including JSEA implementation and toolbox meetings.
• Leadership & Team Management:
  
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a collaborative team culture.
  • Oversee team performance and ensure operational goals are met.
• Maintenance Operations:
  
  • Manage the maintenance of mobile plant and equipment, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term maintenance programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of plant servicing and compliance.
• Cost Management & Planning:
  
  • Monitor and control maintenance budgets and resources.
  • Use cost control data to forecast and plan effectively.
• Stakeholder & Subcontractor Management:
  
  • Manage subcontractor agreements and ensure safety and quality compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve project success.
