Project Manager
Our client is a leading OEM, providing engineered equipment, aftermarket parts, and services to the mining, resources, and bulk material handling sectors across Australia and internationally.
Due to ongoing growth and exciting new projects, they are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their expanding Operations team.
The Role:
- Oversee capital contracts to ensure client expectations and contractual requirements are met, with a focus on safety, profitability, efficiency, and quality.
- Manage procurement of goods and services for projects, aiming to minimize costs while maintaining quality, quantity, and timelines.
- Work with the Workshop to plan labour and resources efficiently to keep projects on schedule and meet contract deadlines.
- Handle project costings, records, and produce commercial, technical, and financial reports, including Work in Progress.
- Oversee project invoicing.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and other departments to develop and uphold systems for capital project management, covering risk management, communication, cost control, administration, record-keeping, quality control, and continuous improvement.
- Travel to site as needed.
About You:
- Certificate in Project Management or relevant experience.
- Qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical controls and instrumentation is a bonus.
- Familiarity with commercial contract requirements.
- Experience with contract interpretation, negotiation, and execution.
- Solid understanding of risk management.
- Skilled in managing project scope and handling variations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to apply cost control measures to keep projects on budget.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is advantageous but not essential.
