The Opportunity

Join one of Australia’s leading gold mining companies with operations in Western Australia and overseas. Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our underground team at one of their world class assets in Kalgoorlie.

As a Senior Mining Engineer, you will lead a high-performing technical team, including scheduling, drill and blast, and graduate engineers. Your expertise will help drive safe and efficient production while contributing to the continued growth of the mine which boasts reserves exceeding 1 million ounces.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and coordinate drill and blast designs in line with weekly plans.
  • Mentor and guide scheduling engineers to achieve operational excellence.
  • Act as Alternate Underground Manager when required, providing statutory guidance to the operation.
  • Collaborate with the Underground Mine Foreman to plan and execute weekly targets while holding the team accountable.
  • Manage stope reconciliation, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with blast vibration monitoring, recording, and reporting requirements.
  • Support the Underground Manager during regulatory inspections, investigations, and site visits.

About you

You will have a tertiary degree in Mining Engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ underground hard rock mining experience. Previous experience using  Deswik CAD and Scheduler  and advanced Microsoft Office skills is essential. You will possess strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage diverse teams ande ideally experience working with mining contractors. The ideal candidate will have a WA FCMM Certificate of Competency and experience with Sub Level Caving, Modified Avoca, or Sub Level Open Stoping.
